‘High Jumpers’ Show Off Chemistry, Theater, Art Skills from Summer Program

CHINATOWN — Hundreds of seventh- and eighth-graders are coming to the neighborhood to show off what they’ve learned as students with High Jump, a Chicago-based academic enrichment program for kids from financially strapped families.

High Jump, a two-year, tuition-free program for ambitious middle schoolers enrolled at Chicago Public Schools across the city, will hold its annual Academic Expo & Art Show Saturday at Local 339’s union hall, 2260 S. Grove St.

High Jump Announces New Board of Trustees
Change in Leadership, a Leap Forward for Educational Non-Profit

CHICAGO – June 12, 2015 – High Jump, a non-profit providing tuition-free academic enrichment to Chicago-area seventh and eighth-grade students who display academic promise and who have limited financial resources, is pleased to announce several changes to their Board of Trustees. Most notably, Board Chair Tim Friedman and Vice Chair Philip Nevels will be assuming officer positions beginning this summer.

“We look forward to collaborating with this dynamic team to make High Jump the best program it can be,” said Executive Director Lee Hart. “High Jump greatly values our board’s expertise and experience to help us provide academic enrichment, counseling and support to our diverse student body.”
