Elizabeth’s passion for extending educational opportunities and resources to bright and motivated, yet under-resourced students has strongly influenced her educational and post graduate experiences. She graduated from DePaul University with a BA in Sociology, where her research interests included inequalities in American public schools (with an emphasis on utilizing Chicago public schools as case studies), uneven urban development, race and ethnicity, and transnationalism. After completing her undergraduate career, Elizabeth served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for two years through the Schuler Scholar Program, where she worked as a reading and writing tutor and mentor to students at Highland Park High School. After completing her term of service, Elizabeth served as an admission counselor at her alma mater, where she assisted her team in recruiting a talented and diverse student body. Currently, Elizabeth is serving as High Jump’s Alumni Relations Manager and is very excited to begin formalizing and expanding High Jump’s high school success and college transition program offerings. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys visiting her parents and walking their feisty Chihuahua, Little Landon.
