Max Asaf (he/him)

Advancement and Marketing Coordinator

Max Asaf joined the High Jump team in the fall of 2021 as the Advancement Services and Writing Coordinator. In this role, he serves the organization’s fundraising efforts by handling the ins and outs of individual giving including helping to plan and execute donor appeals. Additionally, he brings his experience and love of storytelling to help craft external written materials and video content for these campaigns, highlighting the voices of High Jump’s scholars and alumni.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Max graduated from the University of Chicago in 2016 with degrees in Cinema & Media Studies and English Language & Literature. For three years, he worked as the Development Coordinator for Kartemquin Films, helping raise over $5 million for the organization and its films including doubling the amount of yearly donors through a revamped individual giving program. In the fall of 2019, Max left Kartemquin to freelance as a documentary and fiction film producer. While working at High Jump, Max continues to produce films including the upcoming feature documentary The Last Strike from Kindling Group and Adam McKay, the short documentary The Sebastopol Siege from Tienda Films, and the short fiction film The Last Drop from Aggressively Compassionate. Max is also in post-production on his feature documentary directorial debut, Within the Box, a family story about the continued intergenerational effects of the Holocaust on the descendants of survivors.
