Our Mission

To bring together leaders who are passionate about positively contributing to High Jump’s mission to expand access to education in Chicago by committing to three core pillars:

  • Strategic Fundraising Support

  • Community Engagement & Ambassadorship

  • Professional Development & Relationship Building

Commitment

General Requirements

  • Commit to serving on the board for 2 years.
  • Volunteer twice a year and attend 1 fundraising event.
  • Dedicate 5-10 hours per month for quarterly meetings and serve on at least 1 committee.

Strategic Fundraising Support

  • Support High Jump’s fundraising efforts throughout the year. 
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of the 2 annual AB fundraising events.
  • Donate a minimum of $250 and fundraise at least $500 per fiscal year.

Community Engagement & Ambassadorship

  • Champion High Jump’s values by supporting key campaigns and initiatives.
  • Build awareness and spark interest about High Jump within your personal and professional networks.

Professional Development & Relationship Building

  • Capitalize on opportunities for professional skillset improvement including networking events, Board mentorship, leadership roles, and exclusive volunteer moments.

How to Join

Associate Board - Event

Are you interested in joining or learning more about High Jump’s Associate Board?

Membership is open to individuals who demonstrate an interest in High Jump’s mission and will actively participate in Associate Board activities and adhere to the commitments. Applications to join the Associate Board are accepted twice per year, with application cycles in the Spring (March-May) and Fall (Sept-Nov).

Prospective members (21+) should complete and submit an application and send an email to our Assistant Director of Advancement, Gabi Kizer, with a statement of interest. We’ll set up a brief introductory meeting to gauge if we’re the right fit for each other.
