Our scholars can’t wait to meet you. High Jump Scholars are intellectually curious and academically motivated, and they seek a high school experience that will challenge them socially and academically. Every year, we have three major volunteer opportunities where you connect with and help our students at crucial moments in their High Jump experiences:

Mock Interviews

Meet with and interview eighth-grade scholars to help them prepare for their upcoming high school admissions interviews.

  • 2022 Date: Saturday, October 29th
  • Time commitment: 3-4 hours
  • Role: Perform four 20-minute interviews with 8th graders in High Jump. You will provide constructive feedback on interviews that teachers will share with students.

Admissions Interviews

Every year we admit a new cohort of students and our annual admissions interviews are a unique opportunity for you to participate.

  • 2023 Dates: March 20-March 30
  • Time commitment: 2 hours per session
  • Role: Perform two 20-minute interviews with prospective High Jump scholars as the last stage of their application process. You will provide feedback on each applicant which will help our admissions team determine who will be accepted into the next cohort of High Jump scholars.

Career Day

Share your career and educational experiences with our seventh and eighth-grade scholars at our annual career day.

  • 2023 Dates: TBD on a weekday in the summer
  • Time commitment: 3 hours
  • Role: Serve on a panel with a few other professionals and share your professional and educational experiences with 7th and 8th graders in High Jump, providing them with advice and participating in a Q&A with the students.
