Nate Pietrini comes to High Jump from his prior position as an award-winning principal of one of Illinois’ top elementary schools, Hawthorne Scholastic Academy. His résumé includes extensive teaching and executive leadership in public schools since 2004 – with the majority of time spent teaching grades 6-12 in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
Chief Programs Officer
Before joining High Jump, Yolanda Luna-Mroz served as principal of Decatur Classical School, one of the highest-rated elementary schools in Chicago, and recently honored as one of 367 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020. At Decatur, Yolanda says her decisions were always guided by what would clearly be in her students’ best interest.
Chief Advancement Officer
Jill Reid brings over 20 years of experience building resources for Chicago-based and International programs focusing on poverty related causes, especially the welfare of children. Previously, at Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, she oversaw private fundraising of $4.8 million and government grants of $2.9 million.
Director of Program Operations
Paty Perea is an alumna of High Jump’s Cohort 11 and the Latin School of Chicago. Paty has had a love for inspiring students in achieving their educational goals throughout her entire career, beginning with volunteer tutoring roles for kindergarten and 6th grade students during in-class and afterschool programming.
Director of Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement
Jen Wenner serves as the Director of Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement for High Jump. Working closely with the program team, Executive Director, and Advancement Director, she leads the development and implementation of evaluation activities for High Jump programs.
Advancement Communications & Marketing Manager
Tammi Longsjo joined High Jump as the Advancement Communications & Marketing Manager in January 2020. Charged with keeping our messaging on point and our designs looking sharp, Tammi brings over 20 years of experience in design, writing, and project management.
Advancement Services and Events Manager
Lauren joined the High Jump team in September 2018. She is the Advancement Services and Events Manager in charge of managing our donor database and assisting with prospect research and reporting. She has over three years of non-profit experience in donor relations, event coordination, and volunteer management.
Evelyn joined the High Jump team in August of 2018 as the Executive Assistant. Growing up in Chicago and being a first-generation college student, she understood from an early age the importance of accessible academic enrichment programs. Evelyn has always been involved with academic centers whose mission is to help low income urban youth excel inside and outside of the classroom.
Campus Director, Latin Campus
Lance Miller joined High Jump as the Campus Director of the Latin campus in 2016 after working as a High Jump teacher for several years. He taught Mathematics, Language Arts, and Science for eight years to middle school students at various Chicago Public Schools in the Washington Heights and Beverly areas and is highly endorsed in the State of Illinois for Middle School education.
Campus Director, Parker Campus
Karen Thomas’s passion for education and helping others is what ultimately led her to High Jump. After receiving her BA in education, she spent 9 years teaching 3rd grade in both CPS and Oak Park District 97. While teaching, Karen played an integral role in creating and adopting a new language arts curriculum, and implementing restorative justice practices alongside her colleagues.
